With more than 20 years’ experience, Lori Cunningham is an accomplished leader in the Talent Acquisition field. Currently serving as the Vice President of Talent Acquisition at Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), Lori is instrumental in crafting and executing dynamic recruitment strategies, attracting top-tier talent throughout the entire BILH healthcare system in Eastern Massachusetts.
BILH is a healthcare system that brings together academic medical centers, teaching hospitals, specialty and community hospitals, with over 4,800 physicians and 38,000 employees, working collaboratively in a shared mission to expand access to care and advance the science and practice of medicine through groundbreaking research and education.
Leveraging her invaluable expertise and business acumen, Lori plays a pivotal role in helping BILH’s organizations navigate unprecedented hiring demands in the fiercely competitive healthcare market. She works diligently to ensure the enduring success of the organization by expertly navigating its unique employee value propositions.
Lori’s career in human resources began with progressive positions at Boston Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she demonstrated exceptional leadership as the head of the Staffing Branch within BIDMC’s Incident Command. Lori efficiently built a team within 48 hours and established a redeployment center for both the first and second surges. Her outstanding contributions earned her the title of a 2021 Women’s History Month-Incident Command Center Leader Honoree.
Known for building strong, cross-functional relationships, Lori collaborates as a trusted advisor to leaders and teams at all levels within the BILH system. She is dedicated to delivering an exceptional candidate and end-user experience, with a proven track record of fostering a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and anti-racism. Lori passionately served as an inaugural member of the DEI Advisory Council for BILH.
Lori holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Dual Major in Education and Communications from Bridgewater State University. She further honed her skills by completing the Program on Negotiations for Senior Executives from Harvard Law School. In addition to her professional achievements, Lori represented Team BIDMC as a Boston Marathon Runner in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lori resides in South Easton, MA, with her husband and their five children. She enjoys spending her time supporting her children’s sporting events and volunteers in various school booster clubs.
